Tentative Dates: Sept 4 - Nov 20

Your student will have fun learning to use their creativity in writing. They will write
poetry; instructions; an advertisement; a narrative, persuasive, & an opinion essay;
book reports, and try a short graphic story.
The class format will be a combination of lecture, discussions, and a lot of writing.
We will address grammar during class also.
There WILL be homework assigned weekly.
Ms. Affleck will send out a supply list 2 weeks before the start of class.

Writing Class – 9th, 10th, 11th, & 12th graders

During this Enrichment Class, your student will write a variety of styles of poetry, a
narrative, persuasive, & opinion essays; an advertisement; a short story, and a research
paper.
The class format will be a combination of lecture, discussion, and a lot of writing. We will
address grammar during class time also.
There WILL be homework assigned weekly.
