Algebra 1 (2 Year Course)
Saxon Algebra 1 (Two-year course)
Saxon Algebra 1 is a step-by-step introduction to algebra that helps students build a strong foundation in math. Using Saxon's method of teaching in small, manageable pieces with lots of review, students will learn how to solve equations, graph lines, work with polynomials, and more.
Since we meet only once per week, this course will be spread over two years to allow me to teach each lesson personally, and it will give students more time to fully understand the material, building confidence before moving on to higher-level math. Each lesson will include guided instruction, assigned practice, and a regular review of past topics to help students retain what they've learned.
Course Materials: Saxon Algebra 1 textbook (HERC library has some available for checking out), solutions manual, and graph paper
