Elementary Reading Comprehension

Elementary Reading Comprehension:  This course will help students develop skills in reading comprehension and analysis. Students will learn how to understand written text by using comprehension techniques which include: answering questions, making inferences, learning vocabulary, retelling and summarizing the story setting, characters, themes, problems and solutions of the text. The class format will include a brief study of Greek/Latin roots and vocabulary, read-aloud and discussions, and written/oral study guides through three classic literature texts. Required books TBA.
