Public Speaking (semester course)
This is a semester course designed to help students become competent and confident public speakers. Students will present five speeches: self-introductory, narrative, expository, persuasive, and impromptu. They will learn memory and delivery techniques and will also evaluate recorded speeches. Spanish 1 College Prep
Spanish 1 introduces students to beginning Spanish. Students will learn how to ask and answer questions in Spanish, give and follow directions, purchase items, make small talk, and present the gospel. U.S. History
The class will consist of lectures, Q&A sessions, current events, the Founding Fathers, our history with the world, and our accomplishments (good and bad) as a nation. We will take a brief look at our government and how it has progressed. There is much discussion and debate. We will use video, research and projects that make the class interactive and remind the students of the immigration, ingenuity and Spiritual culture of our nation. Grade: 7-12 The Truth is that EVERYONE is gifted! Veritas (truth) is a club where HERC students can hone their leadership skills as they plan and implement fun and educational events to highlight gifts and abilities of their fellow HERC students. Past events include Showcases, fundraisers, art shows, Talent Shows, Career Carnivals, and Christian Youth Film Festival entries. Your imagination is the limit!
